Alison Doody
Alison Doody was born in Dublin in the Republic of Ireland, on the 11th of November 1966. Model and an Irish actor. Following her small debut part as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989, her role as Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character from A View to a Kill (Bond film 1985), she went onto portray the Nazi-sympathizing Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Donavan played the role featured in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987, Charlotte was in Taffin (in the year 1988) and Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody was approached by a photographer and began to model. Then she began a career of commercial modelling. Doody tried to stay clear of glamour and nude roles, which was a principle she applied in her acting. Doody was offered a tiny role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was spotted by the casting director. Doody was listed as one of the 12 most promising new Actors of 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Only 18 years old at the time she acted in the film, Doody was, and still is one of the smallest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying (1997), starring Mickey Rourke, also featured one of her roles as IRA Siobhan. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. The storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first lead role. The episode aired in 1988 opposite John Hurt, Dawn France and Jennifer Saunders. She worked with Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer and an archaeologist for forensics in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody has been in three films with James Bond actors. Doody has co-starred alongside Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for The Hitler Diaries publishing scam. The actress later relocated to Hollywood. She starred as Flannery as Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. Doody was a part of the 2004 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine portrayed her at a ceremony in recognition of an award. She was in the film together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version of King Solomon's Mines. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama, aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014 she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. In November, she won the Almeria award for best film and received a Star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
