Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh,
North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage
actor and writer, while her mother Sara Wood is an actress and acting coach.
She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood III, an actor.
Evan as well as her brothers regularly appeared at Theatre In The Park in
Raleigh. Her father founded it and is its director of operations. At the age of
five, she auditioned for the role of Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire
Chronicles (1994). She relocated to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in
the year 1996. She has seen success since she has appeared in a variety of TV
series, TV movies and feature films. She appeared in Practical Magic (1998) in
the role of the daughter of Al Pacino. The comedic S1m0ne(2002) followed by
Thirteen (2003) featuring Holly Hunter. Her breakout role in the role of Tracy
on "Thirteen" resulted in an Golden Globes nomination and a Screen
Actors Guild Award nomination. She was the first actress to have been nominated
for the Leading Role award at the time. She won an Golden Globe and Emmy
nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Miniseries or
Movie" for her performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred
Pierce (2011). Her performance also garnered acclaim due to her impressive
performance as Stephanie who is Mickey Rourke's estranged daughter, in Darren
Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008). Daughter of Ira David Wood III and Sara Wood.
Little sister of Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. She has been trained in
dance. She is passionate about dancing or sing, play the rollblade and even
horseback ride. She holds the black belt for tae the kwon-do. Keeps in touch
with the majority of her Once and Again (1999) co-stars: Mischa Barton, Julia
Whelan, and Shane West.
